Use of our services will be subject to the following terms and conditions as laid out in this document. Pets for Life are prepared to consider changes – however these will only be effective if they have been signed off by a Director of the Company.
Our payment terms are strictly cash or by credit card (Visa and Mastercard only) or by UK Debit card. For credit card payments we will add 2.5% per transactionto the quoted prices and for debit cards we will add .50p per transaction.
On booking and the booking being confirmed a 50% deposit payment is required and the other 50% must be paid on the day that the service commences. Reservations are not held until the deposit is received.
Cancellations:
In the event of cancellation of which we are notified 14 days and more prior to the start of the booking a 15% cancellation fee applies. The remaining 35% can be held over to the following booking or be refunded to the client.
Cancellations received less than 14 days, the deposit paid is non refundable.
Pets for Life has never cancelled a booking, yet we need to notify you, that if we do cancel a booking less than 14 days prior to the start of the booking period, the paid deposit will be refunded in full.
The client is required to notify Pets for Life of the following:
All persons who have access to the premises while an assignment is being carried out
Any changes that may occur in the clients travel plans
Any delays which may occur in the clients return to home
To check in with Pets for Life once the client has returned home in order for a service to be completed.
It is the responsibility of the client to leave enough food for the animals to be fed properly whilst the client is away, and also to leave exact feeding instructions for the sitter.
Pets for Life takes great care in selecting responsible and suitable employees. However the Company cannot be held responsible for the acts and omissions of any employee or for the loss or damage caused or contributed to by the employee.
If an employee whilst on an assignment is injured or falls ill, and as such is unable to complete the assignment, the Company will do all possible to make alternative arrangements.
If the client engages the employee direct for a definite or indefinite period in any capacity within 12 months of the expiry of any booking which was made through the Company, the client will be charged a one off fee of 4 times the employees weekly earnings. This fee is due immediately.
In the event that the employee does not have sole control while on assignment, the employee as well as the Company will take no responsibility for any breaches of security nor for any other things which may happen to the property or the animal/s.
The client is required, before a booking is started complete the Companies checklist, questionnaire as well as a Vet consent form. No booking will be accepted without the fully completed documents and signed documents. Although not required by the client to leave any basic food for the sitter, it would be greatly appreciated if the basics are available to the sitter.
The client is responsible for providing to the sitter a bed and the use of the bathroom as well as the kitchen during the time the service is being provided. Further the client agrees for the sitter to be able to watch television and agrees to show beforehand how the equipment works.
The employee will carry out all duties and responsibilities as agreed with the client. The employee will keep the house clean and tidy to a reasonable standard. Please note that employees are not qualified cleaners.
The employee is not responsible for any loss or damage to a client’s property, however caused.
In the event of a problem occurring or an emergency arising, the employee will consult with its managers immediately, the manager will endeavour to contact the client, if not successful the Company will make a decision as it sees fit for the arising situation. Pets for Life has a trained Veterinary Nurse in its employ who is familiar with Pets First Aid. This Nurse will be dispatched to look at the animal immediately and to assess what action needs to be taken.
Pets for Life is not liable for any loss or damage arising out of a burglary or other crime caused to the clients property whilst one of our employees is on assignment. The client must ensure that all valuables are securely locked away before departure and that the house is made safe. Our employee will secure the property to the best of her/his ability at the end of every visit.
The client is responsible for pet-proofing the yard, garden, fences, gates etc. Pets for Life will not be responsible for any loss, fines or death incurred due to unsupervised access to the outdoors of the animal.
Pets for Life maintains a high standard of cleanliness. We will clean the feeding area, wash the bowls and clean up excessive pet hairs as well as “poop scoop” and clean up accidents.
The sitter will carry out the primary responsibilities agreed with the client as well as keep the house clean and tidy to a reasonable standard. Please note though that the sitter is not a cleaner or has experience in cleaning.
The client is requested to inform Pets for Life immediately if there any changes to the dates of the original booking made. This is to avoid any inconveniences being caused for either party.
Should the client be delayed in his/her return due to a situation beyond his/her control, Pets for Life will continue to the best of their ability to look after the animal/s. Your animal/s will not be left unattended.
In the case that the client finds that they cannot get on with the employee assigned to the booking, the Company will do all possible to replace the employee with another one that the client can accept.
Once a booking is received and confirmed, Pets for Life will set up a meeting with the client. During this meeting the various forms will be completed as well as the manager will assess the risk occurring for its employee taking on the booking. The client will also during this meeting be able to gain additional information’s about the services being offered. Pets for Life will also request a key for the property during this meeting. This initial meeting is free of charge, any further required meetings at the clients property will be charges at a flat rate of £10.00.
If a dog has a history of biting, Pets for Life reserves the right to refuse a service.
All bites must be reported to the local authorities as governed by law. The client will be liable for the sitter’s medical care expenses and damages arising out of the animal biting the sitter whilst on assignment.
Should the clients premises be invested with fleas or other plagues Pets for Life has the right to refuse a service being provided.
The client authorizes this document to be valid for all further services to be booked by the client and Pets for Life accepts telephone or email bookings from the client, without the client having to sign another similar document.
The client agrees for Pets for Life to hold its house key on their premises for further services to be given. If the client wishes for the key to be returned, a GBP 10.00 will be charged. Keys cannot be left in the home for security purposes.

We would greatly appreciate it if the pet’s vaccinations are up to date at the time of booking a service. We will ask for proof of vaccinations on meeting with you. Pets for Life requires, that your pets are in good health and current on their rabies vaccination.
All employees are police checked and covered by insurance including Public Liability Insurance. All employees have training in basic health and safety issues.
The client agrees to notify Pets for Life of any concerns or problems within 24 hours of his/her return.
The Terms and Conditions of this document apply to all animals owned by the clients, including those that the client has acquired after this document was signed.
The client states that he/she has read the agreement in full and that he/she fully understands and accepts all terms and conditions
